Harlan J. Miller age 88 of Teeds Grove, IA, passed away Monday at The Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton. Private family funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday Feb. 6th at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Andover Cemetery. Casket bearers will be his grandchildren. Harlan was born on Dec. 1, 1932 on the family farm in Jackson County, Iowa, the son of Cyrus and Elsie (Bruce) Miller. He graduated from Miles High School in 1951. He married Jeraldine Eickert on Dec. 16, 1953 in Clinton, she died in 2014. Harlan farmed his whole life in Clinton County and bought and sold horses. He was a member of Andover Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards.
Harlan is survived by his three children, Kathleen (Glenn) Shoup of Clinton, Karen (Todd) Mangler of Clinton, and Gerald (Julie) Miller of Teeds Grove; five grandchildren, Michael Shoup, Kayla (Eli) Tebbe, Jacob Mangler (Megan Skaar), Lucas Miller (Sara), and Riley Miller; a great grandson, Kase Tebbe; a sister, Phyllis Marshall of Miles; and a sister-in-law, Bernadine Cornilsen of Miles. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters.
We are saddened to hear of Uncle Harlan’s passing. We will keep you all in our prayers as you say your final goodbyes and as you continue on your journey without Harlan. He was a great guy! RIP
