Theresa L. Soesbe, age 63 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at her home. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 29th at Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home.
Theresa was born in Clinton on August 9, 1957, the daughter of Harold “Lefty” and Clevetta (Andrews) Ward. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1975 and received an Associates of Arts degree from Marycrest College. Theresa had been employed as a Sales and Training Coordinator for Lancome Cosmetics. She had also worked at Mercy Hospital and Younkers in North Park Mall. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was active in AA and was especially proud of earning her 23 year chip. With Theresa, everything was an adventure. She had a positive outlook on life. Her pride and joy was her family. She loved them deeply. She looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s activities and taking them sledding, swimming, and hiking. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and was an excellent cook. She was a music lover, enjoyed all genres of music, but especially Coldplay. A highlight of her life was seeing Coldplay in concert with her family. She looked forward to riding with Stephen on his Harley and traveling with her sister. She had a deep religious conviction and made several trips to the Abbey in New Melleray.
Theresa is survived by her partner and soulmate, Stephen Arlen of Clinton; 3 children, Sarah (Adam) Pope, Brian (Jessica) Soesbe and Lucas (Tori) Faur all of Clinton; Stephen’s daughter Stephanie Arlen of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren, Landon, Olivia, Isabelle, Liam, Mia, Abigael, Alexis, Jon, Ella, Erin, Korben and Henry; her parents, Lefty and Clevetta Ward of Clinton; her sister, Dorothy Anderson (Mark Arlen) of Clinton; 2 brothers, David Ward (Dawn Eagle) of Savanna and Kenneth Ward (Myra Wheeler) of Conover, NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins. I am so very sad for your loss. Theresa is a one in a million souls that I had the privilege of meeting. Her giggle is indelibly marked as one of my fondest memories. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to all.
