Richard Lingle age 86 of Clinton passed away Monday Jan. 11, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Richard was born on Dec. 4, 1934 in Thomsen, IL, the son of George and Nellie (Davis) Lingle. He graduated from CHS in 1953. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1957-1959. He married Donna Repp on Feb. 25, 1961 in Port Byron, IL, she died in 1966. Richard later married Mary Dolan on Nov. 23, 1973 in Clinton, she died in 2017. He worked as a Millwright at E.I. DuPont from 1953-1996. Richard enjoyed farming, going to auctions, and his antique tractors.
Richard is survived by his three daughters, Pam Lingle of Clinton, Charline Lingle of DeWitt, and Denise (Patty) Cassell-Lingle of Clinton; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Scott) Birdsley of Marion, IA, Alice (Tom) Drummond of Port Byron, IL, and Joshua (Jessica) Lingle of Clinton; eight great grandchildren, Natalie Grace, Gavin Miles, Gabriel Paul, Lauren Paige, Jocelyn Elizabeth, Sydney Marie, Franklin James, and Wyatt Richard; his sister, Betty and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Donna and Mary, two brothers, and three sisters.
