William A. “Bill” Rowson, age 75 of Camanche, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home Surrounded by his loving family. In following Bill’s wishes cremation have been accorded. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery with military rites by the Miles American Legion. Memorials may be made to family wishes or Faith Lutheran Church. William was born on May 30, 1942 in Clinton, the son of Maynard C. Hermena (Holdgrafer) Rowson. He graduated from Elvira High School in 1960. He served with in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 – 1964. He married Jeanne Schroeder on February 18, 1984 at Faith Lutheran Church. Bill retired from E.I. DuPont after 36 years of service. He worked at Detterman Blacktop the past 7 years. He was also a substitute school bus driver for 20 years for Northeast and Clinton schools. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, a former member of Low Moor Fire and Rescue and Andover Fire and Ambulance. Bill was a past-president of Andover Lions Club, former city clerk in Andover and a member of the Miles American Legion. Bill enjoyed his 15 years of going to Yuma, AZ and his 14 years at his Lake Thunder Head home in Unionville, MO. Bill very much loved his very best friend Jeanne and all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife Jeanne; sons, Michael Rowson of Clinton and Randy (Amy) Rowson of Blue Springs, MO; a daughter, Rhonda Welford of Clinton; step-children, Laurie (Terry) Geary of Clinton, Julie (Bob) Haring of Clinton Steve (Elenna) Schroeder of Goose Lake and Chad (Corey) Schroeder of Clinton; 8 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren and a sister, Mary (Les) Peters of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Hermena Rowson and a brother, Maynard.

Gathering of Friends

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

Memorial Service:

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover.

    My deepest sympathies sister in the loss of your husband & best friend. Bill was more then my brother in law, I could count on him for anything at anytime. He had a good heart,kind,hard working, always made you feel welcome & was always there for anyone in good & bad times. Rest in peace Bill you are sadly missed.
