I was sorry to hear about Stan’s passing.  I have known Stan since I was 10 years old.  I played for Stan on the minor league Yankees.  Stan was a true inspiration to me as a young man because of his patience, kindness and sense of humor.  I still to this day talk about my little league years and my coach Stan Tobey to my grandkids that are now playing little league.

This wasn’t my only connection with Stan.  I also worked 25 years with Stan as I entered adulthood at the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.  He was still that great guy that I remembered from my childhood and enjoyed our relationship.  I have many great memories of all the time we spent together as a child and an adult.

Stan touched many lives and I for one am glad that I knew him and he was a mentor of mine.

My thought and prayers are with Vicki and his family.  Rest In Peace Stan.  You will always be remembered.

My condolences on hearing of Stan`s passing. I will always remember Stan as one of the best coaches i ever had growing up. I was also a former 3 time city champ Yankee back in the late 60`s and still give my old buddies a hard time about it because of Stan`s great coaching. He was also just a great guy to be around.I have not seen Stan in quite a few years but hopefully I`ll see him again someday and reminisce about the old little league days. Rest in peace Stan.
