Sherrill M. (Eble) Foster left us on November 30, 2018 in the arms of her loving husband, Ron. As per her wishes, she will be cremated and a private family burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. The family requests memorials to the Clinton Humane Society, as she had a great love for animals having cared for many rescue dogs. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Sherrill was born on May 26, 1953 in Clinton, the daughter of Fred and Lois (Miller) Eble. She attended Clinton High School and moved to Austin, TX in 1971. Sherri had an outstanding career with the State of Texas. She worked for 12 years with the Comptroller and then became a supervisor for the Attorney General’s Office in the Fuel Tax Division for another 30 years. One of her co-workers recently stated she was much more than a co-worker and boss, but was family to her. Sherri retired in 2015 and enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She returned to Clinton in 2017 to be close to her family. She met the love of her life and soul mate, Ron Foster just over a year ago and they were married on Jan. 20, 2018 in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Those left to honor her memory are her loving husband, Ron Foster and her their lab, Sweet; a sister, Becky (Mark) Regenwether of Albany, IL; a brother, Thomas Eble of Clinton; and very special to her, Maggie, Olivia, Liam Goebel; her mother-in-law, Hazel Foster; her sister-in-law, Connie (Curt) Hollomon; her brother-in-law, Gary Foster; her step-father, Robert Foster of Fulton, IL; her step-brothers, Larry (Sue) Bock of Solon, IA, Steve (Jean) Bock of Iowa City, and Kevin (Patty) Bock of Spartanburg, SC; and her step-sister, Lyn (Bill) Doerfler of Atlanta, GA; and many, many great nieces & nephews, who referred to her as Gramma Two. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Jake Goebel.
