Mildred M. Reusche - 93

     Mildred M. Reusche, age 93 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service time Saturday at the church.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.  The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.


     Mildred was born in Clinton on August 9, 1926, the daughter of John and Amanda (Schwartz) Groth.  She graduated from Lyons High School.  Mildred married Kenneth Reusche on September 18, 1949 in Clinton.  Kenneth passed away on March 4, 1995.  Mildred had been employed as a bookkeeper with McEleney Motors.  She later worked at the City Auditor’s Office and as a secretary with the Clinton Public School System at Elijah Buell.  She and her husband Ken also owned and operated Ken’s Korner on North 3rd Street for many years.  Mildred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.  She enjoyed reading, music, word search puzzles, going on long car rides and cruising the river on the Mississippi Belle.


     Mildred is survived by two sons; Richard (Janice Sue) Reusche of Clinton and Daniel (Janice Christine) Reusche of Byron, MN;  3 grandchildren, Renae (Kris) Kalina of Camanche, Sara (Matt Helgemoe) Reusche of Burnsville, MN and Dr. Ryan Reusche of Loma Linda, CA; a great grandson, Dylan and a step-grandson, Ben Evers.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.  Online condolences may be left at

    So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing.  She was a part of my life all the way through elementary school and then when I worked at Ken’s Korner.  She was always so kind to me and my sister.  Later on in life she was a comfort for my dad when was recovering from his hospital stay. He would always say he was going to wheel down and visit with Millie!  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this difficult time.
