Mary Jo Manning, age 80, of Clinton, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at her home.  Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.  Following the services cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Fulton Township Cemetery.

 

     Mary Jo was born in Rock Falls, IL on October 29, 1939, the daughter of Leland and Laverne (Courtwright) Baker.  She graduated from Fulton High School.  Mary Jo married Donald Manning on September 6, 1974 in Clinton.  She was employed with the Iowa Department of Transportation Clinton County Driver’s License office for over 25 years.  She and her husband were members of the AMVETS.  Mary Jo loved sewing, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren, her Sorority sisters and her best friend Ruby.

 

     Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Donald; 2 children, Kimberly Ervin of Gardnerville, NV and Steven Selhost of Clinton; 5 grandchildren, Elias (Janeille) Ervin of Monroe, CT, Elliot Ervin of Wellington, NV, Eleah (Niko) Seth of Redding, CA, Shane (Heather) Selhost of Dalhart TX and Shae Selhost of Eldorado, KS; 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Verlin (Jeannie) Baker of Clinton and Paul (Linda) Baker of Sabula; 2 sisters, Bonnie Synder of Tucson, AZ and Rae Ann (Terry) Gielau of IL, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, step-son, Dennis Manning, grandson, Patrick Manning and 2 brothers, David and Troy.  Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

 

Visitation:

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Service:

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Pape Funeral Home. Following the services cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Fulton Township Cemetery.

    Don, Kim, Steve and family, so sorry for your loss. Mary Jo and I worked together in Clinton. I enjoyed being with her at work and also as a quilting friend. Mary Jo was a very special lady, had a lot of fun together.
