Ida Mae Rivers - 87

     Ida Mae Rivers (Mother Rivers) age 87 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at her home.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Pape Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 7th at the Pape Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Washington Memory Gardens Cemetery in Homewood, Illinois.  

 

     Ida was born in Mitchellville, AR on April 20, 1932 the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Jones) Kelley.  She married Willie Rivers Sr in Chicago, Illinois in 1953.  Willie Sr. died in 1998.  Ida worked as a CNA at Wyndcrest Nursing Home in Clinton, retiring in 1997.  She was a member of New-Unity Deliverance and Worship Center in Savanna, IL where she was known as the “mother of the church.”  Ida was good hearted, faithful and devoted to Christ.

 

     Ida is survived by her son Willie (Bridget) Rivers Jr of Clinton; three grandchildren, Tiara, Aubrey and Willie; three brothers, Frank (Athena) Kelley of AK, Ernest Kelley of GA and Charles Kelley of WI; two sisters, Josephine Gwynn of IL and Essie Williams of AK and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers and two sisters.    

Visitation:

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 7th at the Pape Funeral Home.

Service:

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Pape Funeral Home.

    Mrs Rivers was the sweetest neighbor!!!! When my daughter was very little she would stand up in her crib and wave to Mrs Rivers outside every morning with her dog.Something so Simple but Sweet I always Loved about her. When I had my second daughter she was the first to visit after we got home!!! Rip Mrs Rivers your kindness will never be forgotten ❤️❤️❤️
