Your mom and families have been included in our prayers at The Canticle.  I remember your mom as a supportive parent who was very gracious and interested in her children.  As a former teacher and principal, she was the ideal parent who appreciated her faith, enjoyed life, and wanted the best for everyone.  We will continue to keep Donna in our prayers.

I was always glad Mom (LaVonne Holm Strohm) had this close relationship with her niece Donna, perhaps the closest beyond Pop (Barney Strohm). They had such adventures together! I was surprised to hear Donna married so young, and never went to college. I know Mom & Donna were having babies in a matching pattern, and after David, Donna told Mom that if she got pregnant again, not to let her know (as if it were catching…..)! So when Mom got pregnant with Janet, she sent Donna a note that said, “Dear Donna, completely blank space, then “Love, LaVonne”. Sure enough, Donna got the message, and then she got pregnant with her own seventh child!!!  Peace to all of her family, a life well lived. Love, Laurie Strohm

I remember you and your mom from grade school. I saw your brother taking your mom to the doctor one day last fall and we spoke.  Just thinking of you makes me smile.  How the years have passed.

Even though it is their time, and they have lived a long life, finished their jobs, we miss them.  It is very sobering to have someone close to you pass on to heaven.  I pray your heart is touched by Gods grace and healing during this grieving time.  Blessings, Patt
