Brandon Hankins, age 34 of Davenport, formerly of Clinton, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Genesis East Hospital, Davenport. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM. Brandon was born in Iowa City on February 6, 1984, the son of Keith and Debra (Neisslie) Hankins. He attended Clinton Schools and graduated from Clinton High School in 2002. While at Clinton High, Brandon excelled at football serving as the varsity team captain his senior year. He declined several scholarship offers to play football in college in order to pursue his education. He received his Technical Degree in PC-Tech/Micro Computers from Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management at Ashford. Brandon had been employed with several companies, recently as a systems engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal, and presently as a senior web developer with Winsor Consulting Group/Ryan Associates in Davenport. Brandon enjoyed golfing and bass fishing. He was an extremely talented musician, guitarist and song writer. He loved his family and friends and was an avid Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboy fan. Brandon is survived by his mother, Deb (Keith) Hein of Clinton; a sister, Katie (Bill) Cox of Camanche; a nephew Elliot Boonstra; a neice Elena Cox; his step-mother, Margarita Hankins of Sugar Grove, IL; grandparents, Karen (John E.) Hill of Clinton and Robert E. (Janice) Neisslie of Clinton; a special uncle, Dale Hankins of Jacksonville, FL; many aunts, uncles and cousins and his former wife, Erin.
