Thomas W. Stange, age 77 of Fulton, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna.  In following Tom’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Pape Funeral Home.  A memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM.  Casual Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer attire is requested.  Burial will be held at a later date at the Elvira Cemetery.


     Tom was born in West Bend, WI on September 24, 1942, the son of Wilbur and Mary Jane (Ireland) Stange.  He graduated from Wheatland High School. Tom married Debra Troxel on July 12, 1975 in Clinton.  Debra passed away on May 12, 2017.  Tom was a shift supervisor at Clinton Corn/ADM retiring after 42 years.  He later worked at Fastenal for 8 years.  He was a member of the Fulton County Club where he had served as President for 8 years and organized and ran the ADM Open Golf Tournament.  He was also a member of the National Amputee Golf Association, a board member of the Robert Schmaling Memorial Public Library and the former Odeon and Eagles Club.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing and reading. He was proud of having golfed in the John Deere Classic Pro-Am.  He followed the Iowa Hawkeye’s and Green Bay Packers.


     Tom is survived by 2 children, Keitha (Clint Andresen) Kjergaard of Clinton and Daniel Stange of Aurora, IL; 2 grandchildren, Alyssa and Emma; 2 grand dogs, Roy and Sophie and 2 sisters, Kitty Willimack of DeWitt and Kathy (Ross) Filion of Highstown, NJ.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Peter and his wife Kathy.  Donations can be sent to Schmaling Memorial Library of Fulton, IL.     Tom was a Friend and a co-worker. Most important he was the leader of the Hookers golf team along with me and Phil Krick actually won the ADM golf league. He will be missed.  Rest in peace!!!!!!

    I served on the Schmaling Memorial Public Library board with Tom.  He was always willing to help out with anything that needed to be done at the library.  So sorry for your loss.
