James R. “Jim” Krogman, age 81 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Alverno Senior Care Community. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at St. Mary’s/St. Joseph Church, Sugar Creek. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 19th at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be from 9:30 AM until the Mass on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bryant. Casket bearers will be his grandsons, Joe, John, Matt, Justin, Josh, Ethan, Mitchell, Ketzalli, Axel, Atzin and Parker.
Jim was born in Clinton on August 26, 1937, the son of Elmer and Myrtle (Nelson) Krogman. He married Audrey Stolk on June 13, 1956 at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. Jim farmed the family farm in Clinton County, and also farmed in Jackson County until retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Mary’s/St. Joseph’s Church, Sugar Creek, had served as a trustee for Hampshire Township and had been a member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, hunting and fishing.
Jim is survived by his wife Audrey; 5 children, Michael (Mary) Krogman of Clinton, Kevin (Karen) Krogman of Delavan, WI, Brian (Denise) Krogman of Preston, Stacie (Isidoro) Dondiego of Clinton and Patrick (Becky) Krogman of Forreston, IL; 18 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren with a baby on the way; 6 step-great grandchildren; 2 step- great-great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jean Petersen of Clinton, Bonnie (Robert) Richmond of Goose Lake, Gail (Joseph) Claseman of Clinton and Starla Bielek of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Lois Farwell of Preston and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey; brothers-in-law, Glenn Petersen, Chuck Bielek, Art Farwell, and Don Stolk and a sister-in-law, Jewel Stolk. A memorial has been established.
