Charles "Chuck" Nixon - 59

Charles “Chuck” Nixon Jr. age 59 of Clinton, died on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at home after a hard fought battle with cancer. According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services.
Charles Edward Nixon Jr. was born in Clinton on February 22, 1961, the son of Charles and Barbara (Palmer) Nixon. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1980 and went on to get his CDL license and drove for several companies. He married his best friend, Misty Ferguson on October 21, 2000, and they enjoyed 19 beautiful years together. They loved to travel, watch airplanes, and go to air shows.
Chuck was deeply passionate about helping others, whether it was a meal, sharing pocket change, or mowing a neighbor’s yard. He loved to take his walks to nowhere. Chuck was a strong advocate for animal rights and walking in the Great Strides walk for Cystic Fibrosis for his nephew. Chuckles was renowned for his sense of humor and being a devoted fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. With courage, positivism, and passion, he will continue to awe and inspire his friends and family for years to come.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Misty Nixon of Clinton; mother, Barbara Palmer of Silvis, IL; sister Kelli Stinocher of Port Byron, IL; sister Cindy Pettry of Tucson, AZ; sister Joni Nixon of La Crosse, WI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; father Charles Edward Nixon Sr; step-father Dwayne Palmer; nephew Seth Melde; mother-in-law Joy Ferguson and father-in-law Don. The family would like to thank Holden Cancer Clinic; Iowa City University Hospitals; Bettendorf Genesis Hospice; Walgreen’s Pharmacy and family Barry, Scott, Kelli and Stacy for all their support in the past months.
